Strength and movement, built around you.
Personal Pilates, strength and mobility coaching across West Cornwall — built entirely around your body, goals and life.
WHY PRIVATE COACHING?
Personal coaching designed to fit seamlessly into your schedule. With no travel to the gym and no exercises that don’t suit your body, let’s remove the barriers to staying active—so you can build an exercise routine that makes you feel strong and energised.
01 —
At your home
Habits are strongly anchored to specific surroundings. When coaching occurs within your personal environment, your brain naturally connects your home with wellness. Building movement into your home space reinforces routine, making long-term consistency feel more like a seamless part of your daily life.
02 —
Tailored to what your body needs
Standard group classes rarely account for individual. For example, if someone experiences acute joint or back pain, it is smarter to swap aggressive cardio for low-impact resistance exercises and targeted mobility flows. This keeps your exercise momentum going and benefits your body long-term, without driving up stress or causing discomfort.
Tailored coaching also offers you the unique opportunity to not have to choose between Yoga, Pilates or Strength Training. Your coaching integrates these disciplines into one cohesive routine: Progressive strength, Mat Pilates, Mindfulness and active recovery.
03 —
Support between sessions
When returning to movement after a break, injury, or physical transition like perimenopause, fear of hurting yourself is a major barrier. Having expert advice just a message away creates a powerful psychological safety net. Knowing you can quickly double-check form, ask about a sensation, or get immediate feedback allows you to explore new movements safely, rebuilding deep trust in your body’s strength and resilience.

“I found Marie during a time when I wasn’t feeling very well. I had experienced a major breakdown and felt disconnected from my body. I had stopped believing in myself and just thought I wasn’t strong or good enough, so I tried many things, but I quit every time.
However, I knew that I wanted to exercise and regain trust in my body. I wanted to feel strong, capable, and enjoy life again. That’s when I found Marie. I was pleasantly surprised at how good she made me feel, and it wasn’t just about exercise. She met me where I was, listened to my story, and always adapted to what I brought to the table each week. She encouraged and checked in on me regularly. I felt heard and respected, and it felt more like a good friend taking me by the hand and saying, “Hey, I am so proud of you.” I could feel that she believed in me more than I believed in myself and with her encouragement, I began to believe in myself. I looked forward to our lessons and I still feel the strength that I gained from her, even after we stopped working together. It motivates me to keep going and to believe in myself.”

My Personal Coaching Philosophy.
What interests me is not selling a six-week transformation. The changes I find most meaningful tend to happen quietly. Someone starts training two or three times a week. Gradually, they become stronger. They have more energy. Their previously painful back no longer dictates their day. They start walking longer distances and picking up their children without thinking about it, and may even begin to discover activities they never thought were for them. Eventually, exercise becomes truly enjoyable and starts to feel like a luxury for both body and mind.
And, for me, that is often the point at which good coaching has done its job. I want to empower my clients to need me less and to see them not simply complete a programme, but build something that truly belongs to them.
The Knowledge you will benefit from:
My approach brings together more than ten years of experience across Yoga, Pilates, strength training and movement education with my background in psychology, anatomy, physiology and women’s health research.
I hold a Master’s degree in Psychology and my current research explores women’s experiences of strength training, including its potential benefits during the perimenopausal years. I have also undertaken specialist training in prenatal and postnatal Pilates and postpartum exercise, including pelvic-floor and core recovery.
Psychology has influenced the way I coach just as much as anatomy has. Sometimes that means getting considerably stronger. Sometimes it means recovering confidence after pregnancy, injury or years of discomfort. Sometimes it is preparing the body for hiking or an active retirement. And sometimes the goal is wonderfully ordinary: having enough strength and energy to jump up from the sofa, run after your children or grandchildren, carry your shopping, work without pain and still feel like doing something with your evening.
Those everyday freedoms matter enormously.
Marie’s Background
Originally from Berlin, I was exposed early to a wide variety of approaches to movement and have since taught internationally, including at festivals and events across Europe. My own teaching has evolved through years of Yoga, Pilates, Dance, strength and movement practice, alongside academic study and working closely with people at very different stages of life.
There is structure and expertise, but no generic template. We work with the body you have, the life you actually live and the person you want to become over the years ahead.
